Save the Cows is a goal oriented Minecraft Survival Map. You begin your journey as a pilgrim to Palm Island, where you had planned to simply leave a tribute to the local god and return to the ocean as an adventurer. But as you leave your offering, you can’t help but notice two cows marooned in the distance. The god of Palm Island has long forbidden the consumption of beef, but if you can rescue those cows, you can return tasty steaks to the world at large.
In the process of saving the cows, you discover that the Palm God has wreaked watery havoc on a nearby village. Can you find the survivors, and perhaps resurrect a legendary thoroughbred pig?

Can you survive in a Garden Pot? You’re about to find out! In the vein of Ant Farm Survival and Fish Tank Survival and Survival in a Bottle comes Garden Pot survival, a massive garden pot in which you must survive.
This minecraft map is largely comprised of a massive tree, a tree so large that you’ll probably get a nose bleed trying to climb all the way to the top of it. The top of the tree is dusted with a coating of snow and the ground below is entirely brown dirt. No grass graces the pot at first, so therefore you have quite a task ahead of you cultivating the garden pot into a wilderness that can sustain life.

Survive. On the ocean. With very little in the way of land to help you. Does it look a little like Sky Block? Yes. Does it look a lot like Survival Island? Yes. Is it different from both and also compatible with minecraft 1.4? Yes and oh yes.
If you happen to be on the search for a classic minecraft survival map, the sort where there’s almost nowhere to stand and certainly no place to grow food or smite pigs, then this is the map for you. Originally designed as a sort of ‘Sky Block with training wheels’, this map has grown in an organic and exciting way, a way that has made countless You Tubers create videos on the subject thereof, and has seen many thousand minecraft players watch Creepers, Skeletons and Zombies bobbing gently on the glassy ocean.

You begin this CTM survival map holding a cookie, which pretty much sold me on the whole map immediately. Give me a cookie and I will happily minecraft all day long. Heck, the cookie even distracted me from the fact that my little room was lit by pouring lava. The second thing that sold me on this CTM map is that survival tactics are allowed. Want to make a little house with a wheat farm beside it? Go ahead. Block breaking isn’t just allowed, it’s encouraged.
The adventure part of the map comes in the form of passages, dungeons and trials each more dangerous than the one before. Because you are allowed to break and place blocks as you like, overcoming these challenges is a matter of motivation and crafting techniques, not mad leaping from ladder to ladder. I felt a lot more engaged with this map than with other CTM maps that simply made you leap into lava for their own amusement.
Good use of Ender Chests means that you can store the precious wool you need to complete the monument, so should you fall prey to one of the tricksy traps set for you, the game is not necessarily over then and there.
Caves of Darkoth makes the player engage in genuine minecraft activities, mining, smelting, sailing, fishing, you know, real survival stuff. You can’t always see where you’re going and you’re never sure where the next monster will rear its head, but you’re never bored either.

One of the most visually stunning minecraft survival maps for 1.4, Survival Inverse takes the normal survival scenario and tips it on its head. Here you must survive amidst vast columns of water, not unlike Moses parting the Red Sea. It should be easy to survive on the sea floor, where the trees are made of diamond and stone and the walls are comforting bedrock. Unfortunately these things are never as easy as they seem, especially when it comes time to try to make some kind of farm. What is this, a survival map for Breathatarians?
The map is filled with all kinds of challenges, challenges that offer you unique opportunities to fall into lava, or be brained by a passing squid.
