The first Diversity minecraft map was good (and by good, I mean one of the most popular minecraft downloads of all time, so the second must be better. Diversity 2 is an even better, more diverse and all round awesome.
What is Diversity 2? Essentially it is a minecraft CTM map, but it is also a lot more than that. Each level of the map involves various challenges from various minecraft map genres. For example, some levels will require a grasp of minecraft parkour techniques, whilst others will require you to solve minecraft puzzles and still others require you to go on minecraft adventures of epic proportions. Between fighting zombies, falling prey to traps, wondering what the next turn will be this is shaping up to be the hottest minecraft download since that time they said Notch was going to sell Minecraft to Microsoft.
This map can be played in either single or multiplayer formats and promises a well rounded minecraft challenge for even the most seasoned player, whilst still being easy enough to allow newbies to acquaint themselves with the most time honored minecraft tradition of all time – the rage quit.

2013 is almost behind us, so what were the very best and most popular minecraft maps this year?
Revolutionizing Minecraft Sky Survival, Sky Den took the simply Sky Block style minecraft map and turned it on its head, adding NPC’s, multiple quests, challenges of all kinds and a full roster of building materials and items so you don’t feel deprived whilst stuck up there in the sky. Sky Den was a minecraft survival map designed to be built forever. The only limit was your imagination and that cramping feeling in your left hand.
Epic Jump minecraft maps became really popular in 2013, taking minecraft parkour to a new level. The most popular Epic Jump Map released in 2013 was the Sky Butter map, in which your score was butter and the points didn’t matter. It contained custom mobs, like the Minecraft Butter Creeper, and was adrenaline charged and scary enough to make grown men shriek so loudly every dog in my house flipped out. If that’s not an endorsement, I don’t know what is.
Newton took on Darwin in this dropper map, another popular form of Minecraft map in 2013. Dropper maps involve doing nothing but falling, which sounds easy enough, but usually ends up with the player braining themselves on a bit of wood and having to start all over again. The Dropper 2 was played by the Yogscast, controversial minecraft mavens, and soon became a hit with even the lowliest of minecraft peons who liked falling quite a lot.
Diversity is actually more than a minecraft adventure map. IT’s also a minecraft arena map, a minecraft CTM map, a minecraft trivia map, a minecraft parkour map and the list goes on, including minecraft activities such as: minecraft dropper levels, minecraft survival levels and more. This map is the Philosopher’s Stone of minecraft maps, in other words. For every type of challenge completed, you are awarded a precious block of colored wool, which can be used to complete the monument, thus proving your mastery of all minecraft genres.
The latest version of Diversity was released on the 6th of August. I downloaded all 14.5 MBs and played it. The first thing about this map you should note is that it is made in Adventure mode. This means that for much of the map, there’s not a lot of crafting and there’s certainly no mining. In fact, these activities are strongly frowned upon.
Tacos are not to be trusted. Especially when you’re minecraft adventuring through their deliciously meaty insides. As a personal rule, I don’t trust anything made of meat. This legendary minecraft Taco related series is now entering its third iteration, which means you can download three minecraft taco maps at a single time, creating a delicious meal of minecraft goodness.
The original Taco Abduction minecraft map. Featuring a creeper missing the top half of its head to create what those in some continents call brain dip. Mmm brains.
A teaching parkour map, School of Parkour is a minecraft teaching parkour map that will teach you how to play advanced minecraft parkour maps. If you’ve ever fallen into lava for the fiftieth time and would like to know how to cling to vines, leap onto ladders and generally win at parkour, then this map makes an effort to teach you how to do that. Starting from the very basics of jumping with your spacebar (something that sounds totally simple, but is actually pretty difficult at times) moving on to double jumps, then corner jumps, then ladder parkour, then fence parkour and then more, more more parkour techniques so all those parkour maps will finally make sense.
