This survival islands map is made from several large, heavily landscaped islands in the sky. Instead of skipping from little biome to little biome, you can explore naturally shaped islands featuring various landscapes, each with its very own specialized terrain. The map also includes custom boss fights, custom dungeons, a stronghold and many more minecraft features commonly found in naturally generated minecraft maps.

Skyverse, Minecraft Sky Survival Map
A cross between SkyBlock and Sky Island, Skyverse is somewhere in between. It has more dirt than SkyBlock, but not as many resources as Sky Island. So it is simultaneously harder, easier and more fun than either of the two maps mentioned in the first instance. In Skyverse, a small plug shaped island of land floats in the middle of the void. Although this is currently a single player survival map, there may soon be a server, which will be fun for people who like standing in small spaces with a lot of other people.

Sky Flat Survival, Minecraft CTM \ Sky Survival Map (Now With Custom NPCs!)
I’m going to start this minecraft survival map review with a warning: do not let the poisoned villager out of the solitary village blacksmith’s house. He is not in his right mind and he will run right off the edge of the world if you’re not careful.*
This simple island style of minecraft survival map is by far and away my absolute favorite. I love the simplicty of these maps, as well as the challenge that comes from having limited space and limited resources. Sky Flat is especially challenging as a quick peek over the edge reveals this map to be but one block thick.

Space Mines, Minecraft Space Survival Map
From the creator of Wheel of Misfortune comes SPACE MINES, a sky island style minecraft survival map. Though it looks like all those other minecraft sky island maps, the creator has promised that it has the power to destroy hopes and dreams, which personally excites me.
You see, this isn’t just another minecraft sky survival map. This is a minecraft adventure survival sky map, or similar words to that. It has a storyline, whilst also encouraging you to make a melon farm – so something for people who like to complete tasks, and also something for people who like to have meaning in their lives.
