Link of Faith is a myst-style minecraft adventure RPG map with over five hours of gameplay, stunning fantasy builds and more puzzles than you can shake your brain cells at. Well, maybe not that many, that would be millions of puzzles. Let’s just say the true number of puzzles involved in this adventure map is somewhere between two and the number of brain cells you have.
There are a lot of rules involved in playing this map. Nothing is to be broken and all books are to be read. Because they’re important. I don’t know about you, but simply reading instructions like that make me feel a little oppositional defiance disorder coming on.
The map maker, one SkyeGU, is very clear on the fact that this is a LINEAR RPG. That means you hold hands and stick to the path, darn it. Those who wander will be lost in this map. The creator is so insistent on this point that even downloading the map involves agreeing that you’ve read the rules.
So why are we talking about this minecraft adventure map? Well, in spite of the authoritarian approach the map maker has taken to the concept of fun, (you’ll have fun as and when instructed, and not a moment before!) the map is very, very well made and even includes custom made NPC pixel art. Now how can you not love that kind of effort?
It also includes a custom texture pack, so you can appreciate the adventure in the proper manner. Elbows off the table please, and sit up straight already.
Link of Faith is suitable for up to eight players, and you all get your very own power ranger style color. That view of the spawn point up the top there? Those are your orbs of starting. The game only gets better from there – and it really does feel like an RPG game inside of minecraft. There are little parkour challenges, a neat key based system and environments that are a real joy to behold. This is a very well made minecraft adventure map and you should play it immediately.
