From the creator of Wheel of Misfortune comes SPACE MINES, a sky island style minecraft survival map. Though it looks like all those other minecraft sky island maps, the creator has promised that it has the power to destroy hopes and dreams, which personally excites me.
You see, this isn’t just another minecraft sky survival map. This is a minecraft adventure survival sky map, or similar words to that. It has a storyline, whilst also encouraging you to make a melon farm – so something for people who like to complete tasks, and also something for people who like to have meaning in their lives.
The first island is a fairly welcoming place populated with a couple of sheep and a couple of cows and a nice little welcome message from the creator. Oh, and a chicken or two as well. There’s also a great many reasons to hope for the future, numbering among them, the great diamond ore cross floating on the island in the near distance (as opposed to the distant distance). It also contains the hillock of challenges, where you can be reminded what your survival objectives are.
It is evident from the outset that cobblestone generation will be your friend, so it’s a good idea to brush up on your cobblestone generation skills. A simple cobblestone generator is made by having a flow of lava and a flow of water meeting one another. The lava and water source blocks must never meet, otherwise instead of creating a cobblestone generator, you will have made a single obsidian block generator, and that’s no good to anybody.
As with all maps of this type, journeying from island to island is encouraged. The islands contain useful items, clues and possibly doom. Are you ready to face the challenge?
