The Wheel of Misfortune is a fickle minecraft survival map, it might reward you or it might destroy all your hopes and dreams in a single instant. Sort of like life, but with the option to re-extract the file and run the game from the beginning again. The challenge is in building structures that will not only keep you safe, but allow you to access all the structures that hover in the void, so close and yet so far.
Are there challenges? Of course there are, so those of you who don’t feel a map is complete unless someone is daring you to make a stack of bricks will have that particular itch scratched in totality. A little bit sky island, a little bit MC Escher painting, Wheel of Misfortune will stretch your minecraft survival skills to their very limits and beyond.
Biomes. In Cubes. Cubic biomes. That’s a pretty apt summary of this minecraft survival map. Though there are many like it, there aren’t many that are quite as unexpectedly dangerous. Spawners, spawners everywhere!
There’s an awful lot of bridge building ahead for the avid minecraft player, also an awful lot of cultivation and an awful lot of spawner destroying. So many spawners. Although the premise of the map is simple, there’s actually rather a lot of work involved in completing the challenges. Although you’re really supposed to play the map on easy mode or higher, it’s still quite a fun map to play on peaceful.
What’s most enjoyable about The Cubes is the fact that each little cube must be cultivated and tamed. Stone must be mined, wood must be harvested and trees replanted. Then one is off to another cube to harvest some handy cacti and dig some sand for more glass.

Gather resources, craft weapons and armor, place traps and fortify your defenses. When the fifteen minutes are up, the great sand walls fall and players are free to attack one another. There can be only one!
This map is brilliant because it gives each player a ‘territory’ to control at the outset. How you set up your defenses and whether you spend more time preparing for an attack or to defend yourself with your very life is up to you. This map will only grow more interesting with the upcoming minecraft update that includes trip wires and other trap setting mechanisms which will make minecraft PvP a true art.
A survival CTM map, Giant Creeper Survival involves a really, really giant creeper. A creeper many hundred times your size. Your mission? To dissect the creeper, find all the colored wool blocks and complete the monument.
The first challenge this map throws at the player is actually getting to the creeper. Bridge building is therefore a very important skill.
As the sun sets on your first day on the small island in the sky, the fire in the creeper’s eyes seems to grow higher, inviting you into its dangerous belly. If you’re playing on anything other than peaceful, you’ll behold the touching, yet entirely creepy vision of baby creepers being spawned in the mouth of the mother creeper.
Exploration is quickly rewarded in this survival map, so don’t be shy to tear down every structure you see. The innards of the creeper are a dangerous place to be sure, but there are rewards for those who valiantly persist in their mission despite the many dangers.
Stratosphere survival minecraft map is basically a sky island map multiplied and built up and developed and sent to school and come back with a degree in philosophy and telling you how consumerism is a waste of time and eventually ending up unemployed. I may have overextended that metaphor but don’t let that put you off the map, this is a brilliant and wildly popular minecraft map with over 50,000 downloads. That’s right, over fifty thousand downloads.

Perhaps it is because from the moment you spawn you see brilliant and exotic locations in the distance, locations that can only be reached by sustained effort and mammoth bridge building. This is a deluxe survival map, a survival map that gets back to basics whilst also reaching forward to a future where creativity is cannibalized for the baser needs of survival.
